180 Connect network services deploys OntarioNet, the largest fiber to the home network in Southern California20 April 2006
180 Connect Inc. ("180 Connect" or the "Company"), North America's largest provider of installation, integration and fulfillment services to the home entertainment, communication, security and home integration service industries, today announced that it has initiated a fiber-to-the-home development for The City of Ontario, California. OntarioNet, a planned network for the City of Ontario's New Model Colony project, is the largest fiber deployment to a residential community in Southern California.
OntarioNet is a fiber optic telecommunications network which will provide community related services including traffic management, on-line civic services, educational services and a variety of other community services with expected delivery in 2007. The New Model Colony will have the additional benefit of excess capacity created on the network, providing for advanced voice, video and internet/data services to homes and businesses. It is expected that the New Model Colony will consist of 30,000 new homes and two million square feet of commercial and mix use space for over 100,000 new residents working and living in this new urban lifestyle community, nearly doubling Ontario's population over the next 15 years.
