Amdocs Signs Significant New Services Contract as Part of Phase II of Billing Transformation Program for Operators Held by Svyazinvest25 January 2006
Amdocs (NYSE: DOX), the leading provider of software and services to enable integrated customer management and the intentional customer experience(TM), and Svyazintek, the IT competence center of Svyazinvest, Russia's largest wireline telecommunications provider, announced today that following the successful completion of Phase I of the Billing Transformation Program (BTP) Amdocs was awarded a contract to start the implementation of Phase II of the project. Under the BTP, a unified billing system is to be rolled out across the companies held by Svyazinvest, including the seven regional telecom operators (MRKs) and the international/domestic long-distance communications operator, Rostelecom (RTK). In 2006 Amdocs will implement and deploy a system based on the Amdocs 6 product portfolio, including Amdocs Billing, Amdocs Ordering and Amdocs Partner Manager, to improve customer service and loyalty in a growing and competitive Russian telecom market. Center Telecom has been chosen as the first MRK to implement the Amdocs system. The new system will help Svyazinvest's MRKs to move closer to achieving an integrated customer management (ICM) strategy. The ICM strategy aligns technology and business processes around the customer, as well as enables the operators to introduce new voice and advanced data services -- such as broadband and Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) -- quickly and cost- effectively. Next generation services and cross-product service bundles are also seen as a way to boost revenues from consumers and businesses. "We are sure that an advanced modern billing system will enable our companies to realize their competitive advantages. It will also allow Svyazinvest to reach our goal of rapidly offering new services and improving customer service across Russia, while retaining our market position as the leading wireline provider in the country. At the same time, replacing the multiple billing systems with one will allow us to save costs and streamline our operations," said Valeriy Yashin, General Director of Svyazinvest. "It is essential for Svyazinvest to adopt an ICM strategy and place its customers at the center of the company's operations," said Eli Gelman, Executive Vice President, Amdocs Management Limited. "Russia's vast geographic reach makes it more difficult for carriers to offer a single, consistent experience to its customers across the country. By implementing ICM, Svyazinvest and its subsidiaries can overcome the difficulties and can focus on offering new services and promotions and provide an intentional customer experience, further differentiating itself in the Russian marketplace."
