Army Force Provider Organization at Letterkenny Depot Selects TailWind Solutions Software22 January 2005
TailWind Solutions announced today that they have entered into a contract with AT&T Government Solutions (AT&T) to support the US Army Letterkenny Depot.
"We are very pleased that Letterkenny Army Depot is evaluating our flagship software product, FieldSpace, for implementation in a key inventory logistics application," said David Koehn, Founder and VP of Sales of TailWind Solutions. "Using FieldSpace, inventory, maintenance, warehousing, and shipping can track and manage all the parts that make up a Force Provider shipment from arrival at Letterkenny through their shipment to any number of places around the world.”
FieldSpace software will catalog the Force Provider system parts when they arrive at Letterkenny from extended operations in Southwest Asia. This activity is part of the Reset program and catalogs incoming parts for inspection, repair and restocking, labels and inventories the parts, and creates master inventory lists of available parts and parts under repair throughout the depot. The expectation is that implementing the Tailwind solution will expedite the deployment of materials to be provided to our fighting men and women around the world."
"A large part of the cost of cataloging, repairing, tracking and shipping these Force Provider tent cities is due to paper-based processes resulting in errors, delays, and information and time lost," according to the AT&T project manager. AT&T is the prime contractor, sub-contracting the development and implementation of this project to TailWind. "The FieldSpace software reduces the time lost in tracking, labeling, and shipping the materials associated with the Force Provider “tent cities.” The automation of this process once fully deployed can save significant dollars, by reducing the time taken to complete the inventory, identify shortages, tracking the parts through storage, maintenance, and into shipping, thereby bringing these critical materials to war fighters throughout the world sooner."
Letterkenny Army Depot chose FieldSpace because the product meets their tracking, mobility and security requirements.
