Assembly of First Nations To Hold Annual General Assembly, Election for AFN National Chief in Vancouver, BC From July 10-13, 200610 July 2006
The Assembly of First Nations will hold its 27th Annual General Assembly in Vancouver, British Columbia from July 10 to 13, 2006. The theme of the Assembly is "A Gathering of Nations". A highlight of this AGA is the election for National Chief of the Assembly First Nations which takes place July 12. Chiefs and delegates will discuss a number of topics and will hear from speakers such as BC Premier Gordon Campbell and Lieutenant Governor Iona Campagnolo, federal Indian Affairs Minister Jim Prentice and President Joe Garcia of the National Congress of American Indians. Registration is free for all credentialed media.
