BroadSoft Walks Away With the 2006 Frost & Sullivan Excellence in Technology Award for Its Unique BroadWorks Communicator10 February 2006
Frost & Sullivan's recent analysis on information & communications technology selected BroadSoft, Inc. as the recipient of the 2006 Award for Excellence in Technology for its breakthrough multimedia softphone, BroadWorks Communicator, and for continually expanding and refining its innovative 'BroadWorks' product platform. Internet telephony's remarkable technological advances have not protected it from interoperability issues that arise when carriers migrate from conventional public switched telephone network (PSTN) equipment to VoIP based networks. Since it is integrated with the BroadWorks platform, service providers can auto provision the client, provide automatic updates, and version management seamlessly through the BroadWorks application server. One of the major benefits of this integration is that it offers clients central storage of contacts, eliminating the need to duplicate contact lists.
As the leading open protocol for VoIP, SIP enables BroadSoft to interoperate with various equipment and software thereby being immensely useful to service providers deploying network-based VoIP services. It also provides businesses and consumers with numerous options in terms of customer premise equipment (CPE).
