Virginia Cirocco, Chair of the Board of the Canadian Association of Chain Drug Stores (CACDS), is pleased to announce that Nadine Saby has been appointed President & CEO of CACDS, effective July 10, 2006. Ms. Saby is an experienced senior executive with an outstanding track record in complex service organizations in both the public and private sectors. Her career has been focused primarily in the areas of strategic communications, public affairs and operations management. She is currently an independent management and communications consultant, coach and advisor to private and public sector clients. In 2002, Ms. Saby helped establish an operational service agency of the Ontario government - Trillium Gift of Life Network, which is responsible for managing the provincial system of organ and tissue donation for transplantation. She served as its Vice President, Operations and Community Relations. During the 1980s and early '90s, she worked in the Toronto office of New York-based P.R. agency Burson-Marsteller, and led their healthcare communications practice. In 1993 she joined GPC International, an Ottawa-based public affairs firm, and spent eight years with the company serving a broad-range of clients and managing the firm's Toronto office as Executive Vice President and Managing Director. "Nadine is an accomplished executive and team-builder and a welcome addition to CACDS; her skills and experience will capably lead the association into the future," says Ms. Cirocco. CACDS is the national association representing the chain pharmacy industry in Canada. The twenty-one members of CACDS are traditional chain drug stores, grocery chains and mass merchandisers with pharmacies.
