Call Genie hires seasoned executive to head European business development initiative

Call Genie Inc. (TSX-V: GNE) announced today that it has retained the services of Mr. Steven Hamrin as Director of Business Development in Europe.

Call Genie Inc. is expanding its market and business development initiatives outside of North America, including the second largest market for the Yellow Pages industry, Europe. Call Genie staff sponsored and attended the EDM06 Directory Assistance conference in Rome, Italy in February with the intent of assessing the European market and positioning Call Genie with prospective partners and possible opportunities.

"It is clear that Europe represents a very significant opportunity for Call Genie and that there is a very logical fit for our Enhanced Voice Directory product in this highly mobile market that has rapidly adopted leading edge products," according to Darren Logue, SVP, Global Business Development. "In this respect, it is absolutely critical that we respond quickly and decisively to the opportunity by having someone on the ground in Europe to take responsibility for developing and executing on a business development strategy. Mr. Hamrin brings a wealth of telecommunication and information technology experience to the Company and has a proven track record of successfully introducing products to new markets."

Mr. Hamrin has considerable experience in a wide range of project, technical and managerial roles in telecommunications and IT fields internationally. He has successfully completed roles in sales and marketing in addition to software design and development, and project management. By way of example, he was responsible for development, launch and the highly successful introduction of the XACCTmobile 3G data mediation product. Mr. Hamrin has worked for consulting organizations and independent product vendors including Logan-Orviss International, VoluBill SA, XACCT Technologies, Czech Telecom and Saville Systems PLC. Mr. Hamrin will be based in London, England.
