CellForCash.com Begins Cell Phone Repair Operations with FixMyCellPhone.com3 April 2005
CellForCash.com, a recognized leader in the emerging cell phone recycling and remarketing industry, has entered the cell phone repair business with the establishment of a new web site, www.FixMyCellPhone.com
James Mosieur, chief executive officer, said the explosive growth of the cell phone industry means that millions of expensive phones can be expected to malfunction every year. Quality repairs can get most of those phones working again at a fraction of the cost of a new phone.
“More than 122 million cell phones were sold in the US during 2004, and sales are expected to grow at a rapid rate,’ Mosieur said. “With all the features that the new telephones offer, they are simply too valuable to toss away if they should stop working, and we feel we can take advantage of that.”
The company already handles between 60,000 and 90,000 cell phones every month, buying them directly from consumers and industry and then re-selling them to foreign markets. The company already goes through all those phones to make sure they are in good working order, so offering quality repair services is an obvious extension of the company’s existing business, Mosieur said.
The company will use its proven system for communicating directly with consumers. Consumers will be able to contact the company through the new website, www.FixMyCellPhone.com as well as through www.CellForCash.com and www.WirelessFundraiser.com. Customers will be able to contact the company through the website, and the company will respond by sending out a sturdy self-addressed cardboard mailer.
The customer simply puts the non-working phone into the mailer, mails it off, and then waits for the company to respond with a diagnosis and repair cost estimate. If the customer agrees to the repairs, the phone is fixed and returned by mail. The customer pays by credit card.
“The internet has made it possible to serve individual consumers in the recycled cell phone industry,” Mosieur said. “We believe it will also allow for the creation of a lucrative cell phone repair industry.”
FixMyCellPhone.com, CellForCash.com and WirelessFundraiser.com are all owned by RMS Communications Group Inc. of Ocala, Fla.
