Dance Company Heats Up the Baltimore Salsa Community
On April 28, 2006 - Salsa Video Release Benefit Party
By Karen Bontrager23 April 2006
"Dance is an expression of joy, love, and communication through movement," says Grace Badillo, President of Dancing with Grace Productions (DWG), a local dance company in Baltimore. This philosophy, in conjunction with the dedication to provide the highest level of technical dance instruction available, has led to the production of "Dancing with Grace Productions" first series of Instructional Salsa Videos. DWG will premier and release their world-class Salsa Videos on Friday, April 28, 2006. The DVD release with fundraiser and awards event will be hosted by Gardel s Supper Club (29 S. Front Street, Baltimore, MD) at 7 p.m. Tickets for the dinner show are $50; tickets for the dinner show with open bar and admission are $75. For more information, contact the DWG office at 443-854-0886 or go online at www.DancingWithGrace.com. Highlights of the evening include presentations, performances, and an award ceremony with door prizes. The DWG Dance team will wow the audience with the dance of Rueda which is a circular form of Salsa done by 4-8 people. There will also be a Samba Performance, Flamenco accompanied by a solo guitarist, Polynesian Hula, and a demonstration by a 9 year old of how easy it is to learn Salsa. Presentations showcasing the talent of DWGs students will be displayed. The orphaned children, who will benefit through personal donations and DVD sales, will be on the big screens. And a live 10 piece Salsa orchestra will serenade the crowd. Awards and accolades will be given at 9 o clock to the Salsa Community Man of the Year for strengthening the Baltimore salsa community and Student of the Year Award. Proceeds from the event will be shared with the Hospital Infantil in Mexico, which provides hospitalization to care for orphans with AIDS in Mexico, and the Education Based Latino Outreach (EBLO), whose primary mission is to educate the Latino population through educational and culturally sensitive programs. Mr. Jose Ruiz, founder of EBLO will also be getting an award. Sponsorship information, for these organizations, can be found on DWG s website and will be made available during the celebration. DWG is a full service dance company offering services that include private and group dance instruction in Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Cha-Cha-Cha, Rumba, Samba, and Hula in the Baltimore and Washington DC areas. Dance products provided include dance shoes and soon their salsa videos which they are releasing at the end on this month. Additionally, DWG serves as agent for dance entertainers for every occasion including: corporate and charitable functions, parties of all kinds, colleges, team building for corporations and classes in dance clubs. The founders, Grace and Hugo Badillo, believe in the DWG method which has evolved from their own personal philosophy to not only provide and promote quality dance education, but to specifically elevate the art of Salsa dance to an elegance and sophistication often missing in the instruction of Hispanic dance outside the ballroom circuit. Their quality of salsa instruction will soon be available to for many interested on how to learn salsa through their salsa videos. Dancing With Grace Productions, a company of people who care for more than themselves; what a rarity!
