DoubleClick Hires Chief Sales and Marketing Officer13 April 2006
DoubleClick Inc., the premier provider of digital advertising technology and services, today announced the appointment of Marianne Caponnetto as Chief Sales and Marketing Officer. Caponnetto, a pioneer and innovator in the field of digital advertising and marketing, brings more than 20 years of global marketing and sales experience in the media and entertainment industry, most recently as Vice President, Publishing, Global Media & Entertainment Industry at IBM. As Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, Caponnetto will be a member of DoubleClick's executive management team with responsibility for the company's marketplace positioning, brand development and sales and marketing organization across North America. Caponnetto joins DoubleClick from IBM where, as Vice President, Publishing, Global Media & Entertainment, she led global strategy, sales and marketing for the company's publishing and marketing communication segments. Caponnetto previously served as Vice President, Worldwide Media/Digital Media in IBM Corporate Marketing where she built and managed IBM's global advertising media strategy and operations. Caponnetto was a leading member of the team responsible for repositioning IBM, and managed a global budget of more than $600 million. In this role, she pioneered innovative IBM marketing programs, including the global adoption of digital media as a strategic differentiator, and helped shape the development of digital media as a marketing channel. In addition, she has also served as an advertising agency executive and Media Director on a wide variety of consumer and business accounts at several major advertising agencies, including McCann Erickson and Foote Cone & Belding. Caponnetto has been a frequent industry speaker (including Digital Hollywood, OPA, E.U. Communications Conference) and has served on many industry boards, including the Ad Club NY; Audit Bureau of Circulation; B.P.A: Family Friendly Forum; and the FAST Steering Committee, and is a member of the YWCA Academy of Women Achievers.
