Flander Appoints Top IT and Venture Capital Professionals to Company Board9 January 2006
Flander Ltd, a mobile technology company specialised in software testing and software development with a focus on wireless solutions, today announced the appointment of several acclaimed IT industry and venture capital professionals to the company's board of directors.
Experienced telecom industry influencer Mike Frayne has been appointed as Flander's Chairman of the Board. Mr. Frayne has founded several highly successful companies including Intec Telecom Systems, a leading provider of billing and mediation solutions for carriers worldwide. Mr. Frayne also served as Executive Chairman and Non-Executive Director of Intec, which currently employs over 1,600 people globally.
Mr. Frayne is also a founder of numerous other IT businesses, including international IT services group iOCORE, which employed almost 700 people globally. iOCORE was founded in South Africa in 1995 and developed operations in both Europe and Australia. The Finnish iOCORE subsidiary became a public company in 2000 and Mr. Frayne chaired this business until it was merged in 2004 to form Sentera Oy. In 2001, Mr. Frayne received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award.
Erik Fröberg has been appointed Flander's Vice Chairman of the Board. Mr. Fröberg has a distinguished career in various executive positions, and he has played key roles in the IPOs of several international companies. Among his previous positions, Mr. Fröberg served as Executive Vice President of Capgemini Sweden, where he held global responsibility for the utilities sector and also developed Capgemini's international business in the telecom sector. Mr. Fröberg was Executive Vice President at LHS Group during the company's IPOs on both Nasdaq and Frankfurt Neue Markt, and subsequently served as CEO of Digiquant AS.
Flander also announced the appointment of Mr. Timo Tiihonen and Mr. Vesa Walldén as board members. Mr. Tiihonen's other current positions include serving as the Chairman of the Board at Sentera, as well as a board member of Tieturi. Mr. Walldén works as a partner at CapMan, in addition to serving as the Chairman of the Board of numerous companies including SecGo and Distocraft, as well as a board member of Solid Information Technology and Hantro. Flander's CEO Mika Heikinheimo and Executive Vice President Seppo Kolari will continue as board members.
