Global News Ontario Sports Coverage Now Powered by Rogers Sportsnet Ontario

In January, Global News Ontario will begin broadcasting comprehensive, live sports news and information with content partner, Rogers Sportsnet Ontario.

The exciting new collaboration will provide viewers with an exclusive, up-to-the-minute sports package, driven by Ontario's freshest, fastest-growing newscasts. Audiences across the province can catch the live sports segments nightly on News Hour at 6:00 and News Final at 11:00, in addition to customised updates appearing each day on the Morning News.

With a January 2007 start, the high-energy team at Rogers Sportsnet Ontario will focus on "hometown" sports news from franchises including the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Blue Jays, Toronto Raptors, Toronto Argonauts - in addition to other leading, local and provincial sports franchises.

(*)Rogers Sportsnet Ontario's Sean McCormick will anchor the sports segment live during News Hour at 6:00 with Leslie Roberts and Anne-Marie Mediwake.
