(PRWEB) May 24, 2006 -- Richard R. "Rick" Roscitt is a seasoned executive with over 30 years of management experience in all facets of large and small, public and private Corporate governance. Rick has led large "brick and mortar" operations; Internet based startup operations as well as corporate turn-around situations, with equal success. In addition, Roscitt has corporate Board of Directors experience, having served on the Boards of six different corporations. In August, 2003, Roscitt was recruited to lead MCI out of its bankruptcy and corporate governance crisis as its President and Chief Operating Officer. Roscitt's leadership was instrumental in stabilizing operations, calming customer reliability concerns, cutting the cost structure dramatically and obtaining Federal GSA approval for MCI's newly created "Ethics Program". With the bankruptcy emergence complete and the business producing stable, positive cash flow, in April 2004 with Rick's support, MCI restructured the top management layers and consolidated the posts of CEO, President and Chief Operating Officer. At this point Roscitt decided to move on to seek a new challenge. Rick Roscitt served as Chairman and CEO of ADC Broadband from February 2001 until he joined MCI. At ADC Roscitt spearheaded its transformation and orchestrated the reconstruction of ADC which led to its successful recovery during the worst period in the history of the telecommunications equipment industry. Throughout the industry downturn, ADC remained an S&P 500 firm. Roscitt's aggressive cost reduction efforts combined with a complete product portfolio review and an extensive divestiture program is credited with saving ADC from bankruptcy. These efforts set the stage for ADC's successful cash flow and profitability turn-around. ADC remains a leader in sales globally to the Cable, Telephone and Wireless industries. Prior to joining ADC, Roscitt was President of AT&T Business Services which was AT&T's largest and most profitable Business Unit. In this role Roscitt lead an organization of over 30,000 people worldwide and generated over $31 Billion of revenue and $8 Billion in profit annually. In addition, Roscitt served on the AT&T Operating Group (OG) which was the top corporate leadership entity within AT&T, lead by Chairman and CEO Mike Armstrong. In 1997, Roscitt became President and CEO of AT&T Solutions which was AT&T's wholly owned subsidiary focused on serving enterprise customers global needs for professional services. As a founding partner and executive team member, Rick launched the AT&T Solutions business in 1994 and led its four practices: Consulting, System Integration, Outsourcing and Multimedia Call Center Solutions. Under Rick's guidance, AT&T Solutions grew at nearly double the industry growth rate (from $100 Million start-up revenue to over $2.5 Billion in annual revenue in 1999) and became one of the top 10 outsourcing companies in the world. In 1996, AT&T Solutions received InfoServer's Networking Outsourcer of the Year award and was rated the number one network outsourcing company by G2 Research Inc. in 1996 and 1997. The story of Roscitt's development of AT&T Solutions is featured in the book Leading at the Speed of Change: Using New Economy Rules to Invigorate Old Economy Companies, by Bill Capodagli and Lynn Jackson. He was generally considered to be the successor to Mike Armstrong to become Chief Executive Officer of AT&T prior to his departure to become CEO of ADC. In 1988, he served as Network Vice President for the ten-state Central Region, where he supervised the engineering, installation and operation of AT&T's long distance network. From 1989 to 1990, as Director of Business Special Services for the Network Services Division, Mr. Roscitt managed the analog-to-digital conversion of AT&T's entire Special Services Network. In addition, Rick has significant consumer marketing background, having formed and lead AT&T's first large scale launch into the consumer market after the Bell System divestiture in 1985. He created AT&T's first consumer marketing programs (Opportunity Calling) and its first discount calling plans (Reach Out America) with great success. Mr. Roscitt has published articles on marketing and telecommunications for Marketing News, Telephony, America's Network, The Journal of Consumer Marketing and The Journal of Business and Industrial Marketing. Well recognized as a business leader, Rick has keynoted at world-class forums including COMDEX, Cisco CIO Summit, BusinessWeek CEO Conference, Telecom Business World, and IBM's Tivoli World conference. He is regularly featured in leading business and industry trade print and electronic media, having appeared often on CNBC, Bloomberg TV, and CNN/FN. Rick received a Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Cum Laude) from Stevens Institute of Technology and earned an MBA in Management from the Sloan School of Management at MIT. He now serves on the Board of Trustees of Stevens Institute of Technology.
