Integrating Technology Solutions Takes a Professional24 May 2006
Most of us never give a thought to how the technology we use flows in and out of our offices. We use data, voice and video conferencing all from our desktop. The key to smooth communication is to make sure it's set up correctly. Many companies are turning to communications engineering specialists to ensure their system is designed specifically to meet their needs and run correctly. "When corporations, government, schools and universities need to expand or relocate their facilities, they need a solution for handling all their technology needs," says Kevin Mc Kenna, president of EICC, Inc., (http://eiccinc.net), a N.Y.-based consulting firm. "They need to make sure the taming of mountains of cabling, the streamlining of communication technology, and the smooth interfacing of different manufacturers' equipment is handled correctly." In order to avoid a communication nightmare, many companies are hiring companies like Encore International for their communications design and project management. "We handle everything from designing a plan to meet their needs to specifying which manufacturer and equipment to use," explains Mc Kenna. "We also provide them with CAD drawings to show the layout of the specific equipment and cabling required to make it all happen." Such companies ensure all devices are connected and programmed properly to provide the company with a turn-key, fully integrated communications system. They identify the client's needs, design a solution, and then can be hired as the project manager to see the entire plan through. Once the plan has been implemented the client is trained on how to use everything. "This is no easy task," adds Mc Kenna. "We are constantly learning because technology is ever-changing. That's why it's easier for corporations to avoid the headache and leave it up to us." Contact: Jacqueline Bodnar JB@SyndicatedNews.us (702) 338-3105
