Meru Networks Receives INTERNET TELEPHONY(R) Magazine's 'Product of the Year' Award for 20058 February 2006
Meru Networks, the global leader in wireless VoIP infrastructure, announced today that Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC(R))'s INTERNET TELEPHONY(R) magazine (http://www.itmag.com) has named Meru's Radio Switch as a recipient of a 2005 Product of the Year Award. INTERNET TELEPHONY has been the VoIP Authority Since 1998(TM). Meru's Radio Switch family includes the four-radio RS-4000, the eight-radio RS-8000, the twelve-radio RS-12000 and a patent-pending, built-in omni-directional antenna. The system delivers up to 648 Mbps of WLAN bandwidth utilizing 802.11 standard radios, and is capable of scaling up to 1.2 Gbps of bandwidth across its coverage zone. The Radio Switch accomplishes this breakthrough performance by layering up to 12 channels in a single coverage area -- a feature that is enabled by Meru's cellular-like architecture and patented Air Traffic Control technology. All three products are modular and can support radio additions and upgrades, including future 802.11n upgrades. "The Radio Switch is another milestone in Meru's successful history of wireless LAN innovation," said Joel Vincent, director of marketing for Meru Networks. "The Radio Switch addresses the needs of high-density, wireless data and voice applications in the enterprise, redefining the economics of the wireless LAN. We are pleased that INTERNET TELEPHONY has recognized the Radio Switch's unique capabilities with this Product of the Year award." "Each year INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine bestows its Product of the Year awards on companies that have demonstrated excellence in technological advancement and application refinements. Meru Networks has demonstrated to the editors of INTERNET TELEPHONY that its products or services are committed to quality and innovation while addressing real needs in the marketplace," said Rich Tehrani, Group Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of INTERNET TELEPHONY. The Product of the Year Award winners for 2005 will be highlighted in the January and February 2006 issues of INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine.
