Mohan Gyani Appointed to SiRF Technology Board of Directors8 November 2005
SiRF Technology, a leading provider of GPS enabled location solutions, today announced the appointment of Mohan Gyani to the SiRF board of directors. Gyani is currently the CEO & chairman of the board of Roamware, Inc., a Silicon Valley private company that provides value added services to over 180 wireless services operators in over 70 countries. Mr. Gyani brings 27 years of telecom and wireless industry experience to his role as a member of SiRF's board of directors. He is the former president and chief executive officer of AT&T Wireless Mobility Services where he led the company's domestic voice and data mobility businesses, focusing on improving operating results, building out a new nationwide GSM network, and accelerating growth. Previously, he was head of Strategy and Corporate Development and a member of the board of directors for Vodafone AirTouch PLC. Prior to its merger with Vodafone, Mr. Gyani was executive vice president and chief financial officer of AirTouch Communications where he played a major operational and strategic role in the company's growth from an IPO to a $70 Billion global company in five years. "Mohan's extensive experience in the wireless industry and his history of creating record operations growth and profitability as a senior operating executive in the broad telecommunications industry are a welcome addition to SiRF," said Michael Canning, president and CEO of SiRF Technology.
