New Samsung LCD TVs Are More Than Just a Pretty Picture21 April 2006
Whoever coined the phrase, "beauty is more than skin deep," just may have been referring to Samsung's latest LCD HDTVs. While their unique looks turn heads before they are even turned on, Samsung's new LCD TVs are packed with the latest technological features, providing consumers with the new core component for their home entertainment centres. "As a leader in LCD technology, Samsung challenged our designers to come up with a unique design that would incorporate leading-edge technological features that today's consumers demand," said Andrew Dorcas, senior marketing manager, Digital A/V Division, Samsung Electronics Canada. "By adding an array of technological features and developing this innovative design, Samsung is delivering leading-edge LCD products that consumers expect and deserve." Offering consumers the choice of a piano black (51 Series) or a pearl white (52 series) finish, Samsung's LCD HDTVs can integrate with élan into any modern home décor. The thin bezel and hidden speaker cabinet design ensures clean lines as well as a sleek, contemporary look. With screen sizes ranging from 23" to 40", these LCD HDTVs are poised to become the centrepiece of any home theatre system and a great addition to any room in the home. "Samsung's latest LCD panels merge our technical expertise and award-winning design innovation," commented Oreste De Vincenzo, display product marketing manager, Samsung Electronics Canada Inc. "With styling options for home décor aficionados, game mode enhancements for video game enthusiasts and iPod support, these new Samsung LCDs are the perfect fit for the HDTV lifestyle." These Samsung HDTVs feature a 178 degree viewing angle on the 32" and 40" models and a 4000:1 dynamic contrast ratio for a true cinematic HDTV viewing experience. Two HDMI connections make it easy to connect the entire range of digital peripheral devices and the unique "swivel" stand lets users adjust the viewing angle to suit their needs. The 26", 32" and 40" models feature a built-in ATSC tuner, while the 32" and 40" models offer side AV inputs and swivel stands for added convenience. The 40" LN-S4051D (piano black) and LN-S4052D (pearl white) will be available in April 2006 for $3,199 MSRP. The 32" LN-S3251D (black) and LN-S3252D (white) will be available in April 2006 for $1,999 MSRP. The 26" LN-S2651D (black) and LN-S2652D (white) will be available in April 2006 for $1,499 MSRP. The LN-52352D (white) will be available in April 2006 for $1099.99 MSRP. Canada's First Blu-ray player Along with a hot and curvy Samsung LCD to serve as the centerpiece of your home entertainment centre, Samsung will soon be offering Canadian consumers a dash of Blu. In June, the highly anticipated Samsung BD-P1000 disc player will make its debut as the country's first commercially available Blu-ray disc player. The BD-P1000 Blu-ray disc (BD) player allows consumers to take full advantage of high-definition displays, playing content at native 720p, 1080i or 1080p video resolutions. The increased storage capacity of Blu-ray discs allows the Samsung BD player to offer an astounding 25 GB of content on a single-sided disc (50 GB per dual layer). This translates into nearly six times the capacity of traditional DVDs and enough space for two hours of high-definition movies or recorded content. The BD player also includes HDMI support, full backwards compatibility with every DVD format and a built-in memory card reader. ABOUT SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS CANADA Samsung Electronics Canada, Inc.
