News conference advisory - Public campaign, youth contest, tools for teachers and school activities to underline first National Media Education Week18 November 2006
Media Awareness Network and the Canadian Teachers' Federation will hold a news conference in Ottawa next week to launch National Media Education Week which will see a series of regional activities unfolding across Canada, a new video podcast contest for youth as well as the release of free tools for teachers. The news conference will also set the stage to officially unveil a new public service announcement campaign that aims to promote media education in Canada. The nationally televised, radio and print campaign will promote the importance of media literacy as an essential skill for young people.
