Telecom has made it possible to connect the new PSP™(PlayStation®Portable) wirelessly wherever gamers choose; on their Xtra Broadband home wireless network, or from one of Telecom’s 200-plus wireless hotspots.
“When you combine the mind-blowing entertainment experience of the PSP™ with the choice of broadband networks from Telecom you get an incredibly engaging experience,” said Miki Szikszai, GM of New Media and Business Development, Telecom New Zealand.
“With the power of PSP™ and the coverage of Telecom’s broadband networks, it really is possible to enjoy a wealth of online entertainment experiences,” said Warwick Light, GM of Sales and Marketing, Sony Computer Entertainment New Zealand.
PSP™ at home with Xtra Wireless Broadband Surf the Internet from every room of the house - or even the garden - with your PSP™ and an Xtra Broadband Wireless Network.
Xtra Broadband allows you to surf the Internet much faster than dial up, and provides a world of endless entertainment possibilities. With a wireless home network you can connect your PSP™, or wireless enabled PC or laptop to broadband without the restrictions of wires and cords around the house.
PSP™ on the road with Telecom wireless hotspots
With the most widespread wireless hotspot network in the country, Telecom wireless hotspots can provide PSP™ owners with Wi-Fi access to surf the internet at hi speed, download MP3s and High Quality MPEG4 video while away from home. Telecom currently has more than 200 wireless hotspots located in airports, hotels, cafés, libraries, convention centres and petrol stations, and is planning to have almost 450 wireless hotspots rolled out by Christmas 2005.
Telecom wireless hotspots will allow customers with an Xtra Broadband account to connect to a Telecom wireless hotspot with their PSP™for free (although usage will count towards their monthly high-speed allowance). Those without Xtra Broadband can connect using a Telecom wireless hotspot prepaid card to surf the Internet within a Telecom wireless hotspot from their PSP™. For further information on locations and how to access Telecom’s wireless hotspot service please visit www.telecom.co.nz/wirelesshotspots.
