Orange at 3GSM World Congress 200517 February 2005
Orange Everywhere – the company’s vision of giving customers access to the information services they want, wherever they may be defines Orange’s presence at Cannes this year. Using the power of mobile broadband, Orange Everywhere is about using multiple technologies be that EDGE, 3G, Wi-Fi or HSDPA to give customers simple, seamless access to the people, places and information that matter to them.
At 17.00 on Monday, Orange CEO Sanjiv Ahuja will present the Orange mobile broadband strategy along with Didier Quillot and Bernard Ghillebaert, EVPs of Orange France and Orange UK respectively as well as Vivek Badrinath, EVP of Products, Technology and Innovation. At the press conference, the executives will outline how Orange is harnessing the benefits of mobile broadband to make Orange Everywhere a reality for customers using the strength of the France Telecom group across mobile, the Internet and fixed line networks.
The centre of Orange’s presence this year is the Orange Pavilion, located close to the Palais des Congrès.
Demonstrations in the Orange Pavilion will highlight Orange’s unique fixed, mobile and Internet integrated offering for business and consumers, including: • Consumer services over EDGE, including video on demand and live TV • Services for business, including M2M connect, iVPN and Talk Now • 3G applications, including video, music and games available through the Orange World portal, the Mobile Office Card and Orange video calling services including video answerphone • The latest 2G and 3G Signature phone range • Converged services: video calling from mobile to PC, mobile to fixed
And the popular Orange Wi-Fi café is back, giving visitors a chance to access their email, hold informal meetings and recharge their batteries – not to mention enjoy a decent cup of coffee.
The Orange Partner programme, an industry first harnessing the talents of programmers and developers to create the most innovative services for Orange customers, will also be under the spotlight, with the winner of the Java Challenge to be announced at the event along with the launch of the next Code Camp event in the U.S.
At the Alcatel hospitality suite, Orange will be demonstrating video services over EDGE and 3G as well as showing the possibility of convergence between mobile, fixed line and internet. On Nortel’s stand, there will be a number of EDGE demonstrations including live TV as well as an early HSDPA test ahead of formal trials which will start later in the year.
