PDC Announces PocketVue - Bringing Wireless Transmission Technology to Portable2 December 2004
PDC announces PocketVue, bringing wireless transmission technology to Portable Media Players. PocketVue is a new breed of portable media player featuring a 3.5” TFT LCD screen and functions that include MP3 Player, MP4 Movie Player, DSC Picture Capture, Digital Camcorder, and Voice Recorder. PocketVue also consists of a USB2.0 high speed data transfer port with AV input and output connections. PocketVue supports MultiMediaCards and Secure Digital Cards for multimedia applications. With the use of the PocketVue Cradle, contents played on PocketVue can be transmitted wireless to the TV or monitor and vice versa.
According to Gen Shueh, Chief Strategy Officer of PDC, “PDC’s PocketVue enables multimedia content free roaming within the house, home, and office. The wireless technologies in PocketVue can save users form the hassles of line connections. Contents can be enjoyed on the go on a personal basis, or can be shared with friends, family, or colleagues via PocketVue. For stability, prolonged usage, and cost effectiveness, PocketVue employs the MMC/SD as form of memory media. The first viewing of PocketVue was at Taitronics Show 2004 and we’ve had exceptionally good feedback from the public. Mass production of PocketVue will be targeted for Christmas.”
According to Jium Chen, Sales Manager of PDC, “PocketVue is another killer application from PDC that allows consumers to enjoy digital contents non-stop. A trip to the refrigerator or bathroom during favorite shows or important sport events as the Super Bowl will no longer pose a problem since PocketVue can allow the user to view the media on the go. Boring waiting hours during transportation or for your usually late friends can be eliminated by the media rich PocketVue. Compact in size and low in power consumption, PocketVue is the best solution for personal, home, car or office use.”
