Peter Golob joins LastMile communications as Non-Executive Director14 June 2006
r> RALEIGH, NC and EXETER, UK, June 13 - LastMile Communications (http://www.lastmilecoms.com), a developer of software and hardware for the delivery of wireless location-based information services, has appointed Peter Golob, Chairman of Telecoms and Vice Chairman of Investment Banking at Merrill Lynch Europe, as Non-Executive Director. In his position as Non-Executive Director, Peter will play an important role in overseeing LastMile's financing strategy to assist the company with its next phase of growth. For the past six years LastMile has been developing hardware and software to enable the fast, accurate and secure delivery of location-based content to WiFi-enabled devices. The company is now focused on the commercial rollout of its technology to service providers and network owners. Peter has more than 20 years experience in the telecoms finance industry. He started his career in 1985 as a research analyst specialising in telecoms and electronics at research firm Wood Mackenzie. From 1987-1995 Peter worked at SG Warburg in equity research and then Head of Telecoms Industry Investment Banking. Peter then spent three years at Deutsche Bank as Head of the Telecoms Media Technology Team and Investment Banking Operating Committee, before joining Merrill Lynch in 1998. At Merrill Lynch Peter has undertaken several roles. From 1998-2001 he was head of Merrill Lynch's European Global Communications Group. Peter left the firm in 2001 and then rejoined in May 2005 where he serves in his current position as Chairman of Telecoms and Vice Chairman of Investment Banking for Merrill Lynch.
