PLC Network Solutions Announces Letter of Intent to Acquire Beamax Telecom, an International VoIP Service Provider11 November 2005
Trimax Corporation (OTC BB: TMXO), through its wholly owned subsidiary PLC Network Solutions Inc. ("PLC"), a Broadband Over Powerline communications company, announced that it has signed an letter of intent to acquire Beamax Telecom Inc. of Montreal, Quebec. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Beamax is an international provider of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services.
Not only will the acquisition combine the synergies and bundled services of both companies, it will give PLC significant market traction, a great team and an additional base of operations for deployment through most of Canada and the US.
VoIP was perhaps the biggest telecom story this past year as it helped revolutionize the world economy by creating new efficiencies in communications and giving consumers new choices. As broadband connections proliferate worldwide, voice service will no longer be the domain of the telephone companies.
The adoption of VoIP Communications accelerated in 2004 to approximately 8 million home users worldwide. By 2009, industry experts anticipate this number to grow to over 58 million.
PLC Network Solutions' faster-generation chip sets have combined with lower manufacturing costs for key components which will allow more economical deployments of BPL technology.
Derek Pepler, President of PLC Network Solutions, said: "Beamax is a great fit for us as we will be able to immediately leverage each others' services and relationships. PLC's mission is to consistently build shareholder value by acquiring and partnering with well-positioned IP communications companies with complementary product lines."
"Beamax is delighted to have Broadband over Powerlines as an integral part of its business model as it offers the speed, reliability, and plug-and-play convenience that other technologies do not. Our VoIP services will be greatly enhanced with the bandwidth our clients can be provided through BPL technology," said Daniel Yeboah, President and Founder of Beamax Telecom Inc.
