Signal Media Announces New Senior Management Team23 December 2005
Leading new media services provider, Signal Media (stock code: 2362.HK) today announced details of the senior management team that will lead the company forward effective January 1, 2006. The announcement follows the re-naming of the company from "Goldigit Atom- tech Holdings Limited" to "Signal Media and Communications Holdings Limited," and coincides with the news that shares of the company will be traded under their new stock name of "SIGNAL MEDIA" on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange with immediate effect. The new team, consequently, has been assembled to accelerate the company's growth plans which include initiatives to introduce new media technologies and business models into markets across Asia. Details of key individuals who will comprise the senior management team are as follows: Isao Matsushima - Chairman & Chief Executive Officer Mr. Isao Matsushima will lead Signal Media as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Matsushima has a proven track record for successfully starting and building profitable companies in an international career that spans Asia and the United States. In his previous role, Mr. Matsushima was the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Crayfish, an Internet company that he successfully listed on NASDAQ, raising USD 250 million. He is also a Director of M2X, a Voice over IP technology developer and service operator in Japan and a subsidiary of i-cf Incorporated. In his new capacity, Mr. Matsushima will spearhead Signal Media's strategic development and implementation of the company's regional expansion plans. Edmund Kwok - Director & Chief Financial Officer Mr. Edmund Kwok is a Director and Chief Financial Officer for Signal Media with responsibility for Signal Media's investor relations activities and analysing, developing and executing investment strategies for the company across the region. Mr. Kwok has over 20 years experience in the telecommunications and technology industries, having developed business plans across more than ten countries in Asia. Prior to joining Signal Media, Mr. Kwok held senior positions with Motorola and the SUNDAY group, and was a co- founder of Portelco, an HSBC funded technology venture. In an earlier role, Kwok was also a Telecommunications Consultant for Deloitte Consulting where he developed revenue opportunities for telecommunications clients. Osamu Nakano - Director, Corporate Acquisitions Mr. Osamu Nakano has an enviable track record having held senior executive positions with Morningstar Japan K.K., KRD Japan Incorporated, and IP Galaxy Incorporated. Mr. Nakano today serves in the capacities of Director, Corporate Acquisitions for Signal Media and is the Operating Officer for the corporate planning and finance divisions for the company's parent i-cf Incorporated. He is also a graduate of the faculty of policy management, Keio University, Japan. Yiu Wa Chan - Group Financial Controller Mr. Yiu Wa Chan brings to Signal Media over 20 years experience in financial operations. Until recently, Mr. Chan was a Director and Financial Controller of CITIC Telecom, having joined them after conducting audit work in China through an accounting practice he helped establish. Previously, he held the post of Financial Controller for New World Telecom (NWT) where his responsibilities included overseeing the operations of the finance department. Mr. Chan joined NWT in 1996 following a seven-year career at Unimix Limited, a Hong Kong based garment manufacturer where as Financial Controller, he was involved in evaluations and negotiations with foreign officials and partners in the establishment of manufacturing operations in China and South East Asia. Kiyohisa Nanri - Director Mr. Kiyohisa Nanri today serves in several professional capacities including an Executive Director for Signal Media, the Chief Governance Officer for the group's parent company i-cf Incorporated, an Executive Director of Kume Company, and the Chairman and Director of DOBT Incorporated. In December 2002, Mr. Nanri founded MARO USA Incorporated, and continues to serve as MARO's President and Chief Executive. Ryutaro Okada - Director Mr. Ryutaro Okada was appointed a Director of Signal Media in December 2005. Today, Mr. Okada holds several senior executive positions, serving as the Operating Officer for the management planning division of i-cf Incorporated, and as a Director for both Prime Style Incorporated and D&o-bit Incorporated in Japan. Sosuke Kawanishi - Director Mr. Sosuke Kawanishi was appointed a Director of Signal Media in 2005. Formerly with Hakuhodo Incorporated, Mr. Kawanishi also holds the position of General Manager for the management planning division of i-cf Incorporated. Mr. Kawanishi is a graduate of Doshisha University, Japan. The management team is complemented by Ms. Hin Yat Ha, Ms. Chiu Chung, Katie and Mr. Sun Juyi who have also been appointed as non-executive independent directors of the company.
