Sistema Reports Operational Results for Its Fixed Line Telecom Operators

5 October 2005

-Sistema (LSE: SSA), the largest private sector consumer services company in Russia and the CIS, announced today the operational results of its fixed-line telecommunications subsidiaries for the 6 months period ended 30 June, 2005. This report contains results for Comstar-United TeleSystems, MGTS, MTU-Intel and Golden Line.

Overall, our fixed-line telecommunication subsidiaries demonstrated solid growth in the first half of 2005. The highest growth rate has been seen in new subscribers for ADSL connection, where cumulative growth for MTU-Intel and Comstar United TeleSystems ADSL customers exceeded 68,700, which represents 60% growth from year-end 2004.

The total number of corporate customers across all four companies for the first 6 months of 2005 amounted to more than 97,000, and the total for dial-up customers increased to 361,000.
