The Detroit Press Club Foundation's 2006 Michigan Excellence in Journalism Competition21 March 2006
The Detroit Press Club Foundation (DPCF) announced rules and entry details for the prestigious Michigan Excellence in Journalism Competition, honoring the best in Michigan journalism. There are categories for both professional and college student work published in Michigan, or by Michigan outlets.

"Last held in 2002, this is an outstanding program that we are pleased to reinstitute," said Edward Lapham, president of the DPCF and executive editor of Automotive News.
Professional categories are Newspaper, Internet, Television, Radio and General Interest Magazine/Special Interest Publication with sub-categories for reporting, feature writing, editorial/commentary and photojournalism/videography. Student categories are newspaper and magazine and include The President's Memorial Award.
Entries are open to material published, distributed or aired in 2005. Entry deadline is April 15, 2006. Awards will be presented on May 19 during a breakfast ceremony at WDIV-TV studios in Detroit. NBC Chief Financial Correspondent Anne Thompson will be the featured speaker. The award-winning journalist and former WDIV reporter will present the awards to competition winners.
The Michigan Excellence in Journalism Competition and awards program is managed by the Individual Communicators Network (ICN) on behalf of the DPCF.
