Verizon Wireless Expands its Network with Seven New Cell Sites and AT&T Appoints New President of SBC Texas6 March 2006

San Antonio-based AT&T (NYSE: T) appointed Jim Epperson, a long-time veteran at the former SBC Communications Inc. to lead SBC Texas, which has an application pending with state regulators to be renamed AT&T Texas. Epperson most recently served as the senior vice president of state legislative and political affairs, where he was responsible for state legislative policy and strategy for SBC's 13-state territory. In his new role, Epperson will be responsible for all regulatory, legislative, governmental and external affairs activities in Texas. Diamond I, Inc. (OTC BB:DMOI), a developer of wireless gaming products, recently commented on a story published by reviewjournal.com, which featured Diamond I's CEO's commentary on the current status of wireless gambling in Nevada casinos. The online article quoted the company's CEO David Loflin: "The hard part is waiting for the rules and regulations to come out," Loflin said. "A lot of the products right now are theoretical because we don't want to tip off our competitors, but I think something workable can come out rather quickly." In the story, Mr. Loflin also stated that Diamond I's subsidiary, Diamond I Technologies, was formed to capitalize on the move into hand-held gaming, adding that secure wireless networks will enable the new systems.
