Verizon Wireless Proposes to Expand Its Operations and AT&T Yellow Pages, R.R. Donnelley Ink Printing Deal

Wireless Communication industry news provided by Financial News USA (OTC: FNWU) Verizon Wireless (NYSE:VZ) recently announced it is pursuing adding 400 new full-time customer service positions in Albuquerque, N.M., by year-end 2006 to stay ahead of continued customer demand for its wireless products and services. These plans, combined with more than 300 full-time technical support positions announced last year, would bring Verizon Wireless' employment in the state in 2006 to more than 800 in a variety of jobs. Nokia (NYSE: NOK) and Cable & Wireless, one of the world's leading telecommunications companies, have recently signed an International Frame Agreement for the supply of GSM and WCDMA 3G radio and core networks. Cable & Wireless is a new mobile network customer for Nokia.

R.R. Donnelley & Sons Co. announced Friday it was awarded a multi year agreement to print AT&T (NYSE: T) Yellow Pages' telephone directories in a dozen states. St. Louis-based AT&T Yellow Pages, the world's largest directory publisher, publishes more than 100 million directories a year, which comprise more than 700 different telephone directory titles. AT&T Yellow Pages is part of San Antonio-based AT&T Inc. Diamond I, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: DMOI), a developer of wireless gaming products, recently expressed its encouragement following last week's Nevada Gaming Commission review of proposed rules for hand-held, wireless gambling devices, such as Diamond I's WifiCasino GS(TM) wireless gaming system. Diamond I, Inc. is a development-stage company that develops wireless gaming products, including a hand-held Wi-Fi-based gaming system for on-premises use by casinos/resorts, known as "WifiCasino GS Concierge and Gaming System"(TM).
