Video Choice Will Help Bring Expanded Telecommunications Services to Rural and Farming Communities

The National Grange, the nation's oldest general farm and rural public interest organization, applauds the United States House of Representatives for its passage of the Barton-Rush "Communications Opportunity, Promotion and Enhancement Act of 2006."

"Video choice legislation will give members of The National Grange and all rural Americans more choices in video delivery systems and significantly reduce rates for cable and satellite television service across America," said National Grange Legislative Director Leroy Watson. "This legislation also will streamline investment in communications infrastructure that will bring cost-effective access to broadband communications to rural consumers."
