60-million-dollar order from China - Siemens extends mobile network for province of Anhui

Anhui Mobile Communications Corporate Ltd., a subsidiary of China Mobile, has commissioned the Siemens Communications Group to expand the GSM and GPRS mobile network in the province of Anhui. The order involves Siemens enhancing the network’s capacity providing Power CPs - high-performance processors for the switching systems - and expanding the base stations. Anhui Mobile's customers will be able to benefit from the enhanced network performance as early as January 2005. The new order amount’s to USD60 million in total.
