Zhejiang Telecom Selects CSG Systems Kenan FX Solutions to Support Convergent Services24 January 2005
CSG will deliver Kenan/BP, CSG® Data Mediation and other CSG applications part of the Kenan FX framework and services as part of an initiative to replace multiple billing systems with a single convergent platform across Zhejiang Telecom's entire market.
When deployed at Zhejiang Telecom, the Kenan FX solution will support up to 13 million subscribers in 11 cities and across all of the operators' services, including wireline, IP and broadband.
This announcement marks the fourth China Telecom property at which CSG has been selected as the exclusive customer care and billing provider. CSG has already implemented solutions at Beijing Telecom and is in the process of implementing Kenan FX applications at Sichuan & Shanghai Telecom.
"China Telecom's selection of Kenan FX at Zhejiang Telecom was based upon CSG's proven capabilities in effectively supporting large-scale billing consolidation projects. CSG's Kenan FX solutions are known for their ability to support operators with convergent telecommunication offerings, and it is this convergent capability that was another important factor for the selection," Zhejiang Telecom said in a statement.
"We are excited to embark on this partnership with Zhejiang Telecom. By replacing multiple platforms with a single billing platform and leveraging CSG Data Mediation, Zhejiang Telecom will be able to increase operational efficiencies, rapidly roll out new services across its entire subscriber base and deliver consistent high-quality customer care," said Raghav Sahgal, managing director and vice president of CSG Asia Pacific and China. "CSG is proud to reach another milestone in our goal of becoming the technology partner of choice for operators in China."
Industry experts say that China is undergoing a rapid transformation as operators look to launch increasingly sophisticated services to their customers and face increased competition from new entrants. The introduction of these convergent services, coupled with rapid subscriber growth, require billing, mediation and customer care solutions that enable the operator to quickly and flexibly adapt to changing market demands.
"China's telecommunications industry is the largest and fastest-growing telecommunications market in the world. These market dynamics have prompted Chinese operators to seek out world-class technology with the proven ability to not only support the large number of subscribers in China but also the vast number of complex and rapidly-evolving convergent services unique to the Chinese market," said Ji Hong, Vice Secretary-General, Beijing Information Industry Association. "With the selection of CSG solutions in Beijing Telecom, Shanghai Telecom, Sichuan Telecom and Zhejiang Telecom, we believe that CSG continues to demonstrate its ability to meet the unique demands of the Chinese market. As an association supporting China's telecommunications industry, we are excited to see the adoption of world-class technologies like those of CSG Systems to propel the growth and advancement of the telecommunications market in China."
